For Therapists & Professionals
Sex therapy often sits at the edge of our clinical comfort zone, and we sometimes in a space of uncertainty about what to ask and what to say. So many of us have grown up in a culture that keeps us silent around sex, and that can translate to the therapy space, too.
Maybe you want to take your relationship therapy skills to the next level, or you’re running into trauma, education, or self-esteem issues related to sex and intimacy with clients, but don’t know how to move forward… and that’s where I can help. As an AASECT-certified sex therapist and sexuality professor, I am happy to help folks at all levels of clinical expertise to more confidently incorporate sexuality into their clinical practice. Whether you're looking for consultation, continuing education, or community, you're in the right place.
Peer Consultation in Santa Cruz, CA
Practice & Values Consultations
I am passionate about helping other clinicians to navigate a transition into a more sustainable way of practicing therapy. This often looks like exploring limiting beliefs around money mindsets and confronting the role that systems of oppression (including and especially capitalism) have on the practice of psychotherapy. Yes, you can have a thriving private practice and still practice in a way that aligns with your values. No, you don’t have to suffer during your associate hours.
Consultations are available for individuals and relationships
Clinical Consultations
I offer peer consultation for therapists and other healthcare professionals who are working with clients on issues related to sexuality, intimacy, relationships, and identity. If you have a specific case that you would like support on, I can help you navigate what issues related to sexuality you might consider and how to explore them from a trauma-informed and culturally responsive perspective. Other support might look like exploring resources and best practices for working with your clients who are experiencing issues related to sexual trauma, pain and dysfunction, shame, performance anxiety, orientation and gender, and polyamorous exploration. You’ll walk away with something you can use.
Clinical consultation is available for mental health professionals as well as nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, physical therapists, and other healers who work with folks who are likely to experience a change in their sexual functioning related to why they’re coming to see you. So… basically everyone.
